The Texas Podiatric Medical Association (TPMA) values the privacy of our members, partners, and visitors to our website, www.txpma.org. While providing online services and resources, we are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy applies only to TPMA’s website. It does not extend to external websites linked through TPMA materials, emails, or resources. 

At all times, TPMA may disclose information if required by law, to comply with legal processes, to protect TPMA’s rights or property, or during emergencies when safety is at risk.

General Visitors: 

  • We collect non-personal information (such as pages visited, browser type, and referral source) for internal marketing and website improvement. 
  • This information does not include email addresses. 

Members & Customers: 

  • We may collect personally identifiable information (such as name, address, phone, email, payment details) when you: o Apply for membership 
    • Register for events or continuing education programs 
    • Make purchases or donations 
    • Submit forms (e.g., volunteer sign-up, surveys, job postings, etc.) 

Children’s Privacy: TPMA’s website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If such data is identified, it will be deleted from our records.

As part of its mission to advance podiatric medicine in Texas, TPMA works with advocacy partners, legislative representatives, and sponsors of events such as the Southwest Foot & Ankle Conference (SWFAC). 

  • Advocacy Partners: TPMA may use member information to support collective advocacy efforts at the state and national level. This may include sharing limited contact details (name, business address, phone) with legislative offices or regulatory agencies when necessary to represent podiatric medicine effectively. 
  • Event Sponsors and Exhibitors: For certain conferences and programs, TPMA may provide sponsors and exhibitors with attendee lists containing business contact information (name, practice address, phone). Member email addresses are not shared unless explicitly authorized. 
  • Networking and Education: Conference faculty, participants, and corporate partners may receive access to attendee lists for educational or networking purposes. 

At all times, TPMA reviews and approves requests for information sharing to ensure it supports our professional mission and complies with this policy. 

Third-Party Services & Advertising 

TPMA may partner with third-party providers for event registration, continuing education, advertising, or analytics. These providers may use cookies or tracking tools in accordance with their own privacy policies. 

We do not sell member email addresses or personal information. 

Member Communication Preferences 

You may opt out of certain communications (e.g., newsletters, promotional emails) by using unsubscribe links within emails or by contacting TPMA directly. Please note that essential membership notices, including dues and policy updates, cannot be opted out of.

Members can log in to their TPMA profile at www.txpma.org to update contact and professional information. 

You may also contact TPMA staff to review or request corrections to your information. 

Security of Information 

TPMA employs reasonable security measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, or disclosure. While we strive to protect data, no online system can be guaranteed 100% secure. 

Policy Updates 

TPMA may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on www.txpma.org, and changes will apply prospectively.
