Dr. Lacey Clawson

Lacey Clawson, DPM, FACFAS, of Abilene, Texas, was installed as president of the Texas Podiatric Medical Association (TPMA) during the 105th Annual Conference & Business Meeting on June 25, 2022, in Galveston, Texas.

Dr. Clawson practices in an orthopedic group in Abilene, Texas; Abilene Sports Medicine and Orthopedics

Dr. Clawson graduated from Texas A&M University in 2005. She received her doctorate in podiatric medicine in 2009 from Des Moines University and then completed a three-year surgical residency from Scott and White in Temple, Texas in 2012. She is board certified in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Dr. Clawson is married to James Clawson, and they have one daughter, Aspen. Outside of practicing podiatry she enjoys church, traveling with family, golf, photography, cooking, and anything outdoors.

Dr. Clawson has attended several leadership conferences where she encouraged fellow podiatric physicians to become active in the association and advocated for the profession at the TPMA biannual Legislative Day. She has shown exceptional professionalism and leadership.

Dr. Clawson priorities for her presidency include increasing awareness on careers in podiatric medicine to undergraduate students, attending regional meetings and visiting with members, and continuing to advocate for her profession to the legislature. 

The Texas Podiatric Medical Association (TPMA) is the state’s leading professional organization for today’s podiatrists.  Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (DPMs) are qualified by their education, training, and experience to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot and ankle. TPMA represents almost 700 members who are DPMs licensed to practice podiatric medicine in the State of Texas.
